I know, I know…. I’m always on the mindfulness and meditation crusade. I’m sure peeps read my posts and ask: “umm, where’s the creative part of all of this, yo??”
But creativity has had a little bit of a head start, you know? I really feel like mindfulness needs all the help it can get. With that said, I wanted to let everyone know about the Mindfulness Summit that’s taking place in October 2015.
I’ll be honest, I’m a little over summits. I have signed up for a zillion of them and can count on one hand the ones I actually kept up with and enjoyed.
No offense to hard-working summit coordinators, but a lot of times the speakers are a snooze or there isn’t much substance or it’s really just a big self-promotion-fest. And the freebies mean you end up on a bunch of mailing lists.
But this one is a little different.
Like other summits, this one is free to participate in while it’s live and then you will pay a fee if you want to access the content once it’s over. But what’s different about this one is the all-star participant line-up and the fact that proceeds from the paid version will go to support mindfulness-based charities.
Plus, when you sign up you instantly get a number of free resources – a MBSR course, an e-book and a bunch of great audio files for meditation. No adding yourself to 12 other mailing lists.
And, as for the all-star lineup? I’m talking about Tara Brach (I’ve been to 3 of her retreats), Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabbat-Zinn (the godfather of mindfulness!), Laurie Deschene (Tiny Buddha), Dan Harris, Tami Simon, Arianna Huffington, and a bunch of others.
These folks aren’t going to be pitching their new Marketing for [fill in the blank for whatever] Course/Program/Etc. They will just be providing resources to help bring more focus on mindfulness to the mainstream public.
I can’t think of a good reason why anyone who is interested in mindfulness or meditation wouldn’t want to sign up for this one. So please join me in participating! I can guarantee it will make your October better!
